Welcome to our first scenario of the year.

We've classified this scenario as an entry level event. If you are a veteran of such events, you'll appreciate it's level of authenticity and execution. For those of you that are new, this event is taylor made for you. On it face, it's a simple event to follow, no complicated rules or mission cards to follow. Although there are small twist built into the game, for the most part, it's simple but more important it going to be a lot of fun for all of us involved.

I'm sure you've already read the historical events surrounding this scenario from the previous page. One foot note of interest not covered in the previous page. The Americans, not The British were the aggressors in this unfortunate chapter in our history. The British were responding to American expansionism into Canada, like it or not, we were the bad guys. The British crown feeling the pressure from it's neighbor to the south mounted a brilliant counter attack and sacked and burt Washington. For 2 years the British chased, fought American Militias and regular Army units through out the East, ending with the decisive battle of the war, New Orleans.

For the most part this is an offensive / defensive scenario. The British command has the upper hand in choosing where along the line to thrust his major attacks. The American command has to be able to shift his line of defense fast enough to meet those attacks. In addition, the American command has to keep an eye out for spy's among his command. Remember Louisiana was not part of the United States, both Spain and France lay some claim to parts of the Louisiana Territory. Also, lets not forget the pirate Laffite and his band of pirates. Although Laffite and his men fought along side Andrew Jackson and his rag tag militias, Jackson up to the time of the first British attack did not trust Laffite and directed his small band of Choctaw (Indian) warriors to keep an eye on them.

For this scenario Lafittes character and 15 others that make up his gang have the most colorfully role to play in this scenario. Lafittes character along with one other spy will be the only ones with a secret mission card. This card will detail exactly what there role in the scenario will be, given certain mission goals that have been met by the British. Lafittes mission card will detail those goals and cannot deviate from the mission card. After all don't forget, Laffite was a privateer, always looking out for his own best interest

This is what has made our scenarios so much for for most people that participate in them. We take our scenarios from historical events and add a "What IF"
